Kratom leaf has been used for centuries within its native origin. In addition to their use as natural medicine, kratom menu kratom leaves have also been popularly used by the Thai natives for many purposes.
What is Kratom?
Kratom is a plant that is native to a few Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand and Indonesia. Kratom menu has a wide medicinal use, dating back thousands of years, but it’s been gaining attention lately for its potential as a recreational drug. Kratom is a tree that grows up to 20 feet in height. It produces many small, heart-shaped leaves, which are found in two colors: green and red. The leaves are usually dried and crushed into powder. The resulting powder is mixed with a beverage and consumed.
The plant is classified in the Rubiaceae family and is in the same plant family as coffee, black pepper, cinnamon, and clove. Kratom is grown primarily for the medicinal use of the leaf, although other parts of the tree are also used. The leaves, which grow from April to October, contain alkaloids that give it both its stimulant and sedative properties. The leaves tend to have an opiate-like effect and can help relieve pain, decrease appetite, and even act as a mild sedative. The leaves can also be chewed with tobacco.
What are the different types of kratom?
There are a handful of basically different kratom species, and they’re usually referred to generically as kratom. But there are a few specific varieties that have their names:
- Red vein kratom
- Green vein kratom
- White vein kratom
- White Thai kratom
- Maeng Da kratom
- Indo kratom
- Sumatra kratom
- Borneo kratom
The specific name is probably the most important piece of information when buying kratom. That’s because there are important differences. Red vein kratom is probably the most common and also the most potent. It has some mild effects, but it also contains very potent compounds. These include mitragynine and 7-hydroxy mitragynine, which are still being studied. Other compounds of red vein kratom include harmine, paynantheine, 7-hydroxy mitragynine, and 8-hydroxy-6-methylnaringenin.
Red vein kratom also includes 7-hydroxy mitragynine, and 7-hydroxy mitragynine is one of the strongest compounds in kratom, meaning it’s more powerful than any other compound in it. Green vein kratom is milder than red vein kratom, and the effects are milder too.
Still, it contains mitragynine and 7-hydroxy mitragynine, and 7-hydroxy mitragynine is more powerful than any of the other compounds in green vein kratom. White vein kratom is stronger than red vein kratom but not as powerful. White Thai kratom is probably the strongest variety of kratom. It is stronger than white vein kratom but still not as strong as red vein kratom.
