Being a movie director or a filmmaker isn’t a cakewalk in the park as they are the sole being who orchestrates the script, cast, location, sound and investment altogether in a refined manner, If the entire chain has even one loose end, there are great chances of the film going as a flop. So, every element has to be graceful and can’t be compromised under any circumstances. The film delivery to the audience should be quite effective in order to make it a success. The Warner Bros. Television studios made sure of that while segregating the Peacemaker’s filming locations through USA and Canada.
Peacemaker is a spin off from the action-comedy series “Suicide Squad” after the unfortunate storyline that ends the storyline with a gaping void. It follows with the lead cast Peacemaker, getting appointed by a government body known as ARGUS for a mission “Project Butterfly” to annihilate the toxic parasites who looked like butterflies. The production team needed some versatile filming location to ahead and sync with the script in order to make it look more genuine and interesting for the viewers. Though the series was filmed in the United States, they wanted to try the movie in Canada.
Vancouver being the most ideal location was chosen to cover the entire film. There were several places where the set was established for different scenes. Some of them are,
- Ricky’s Country Restaurant- Found near the corner of Accent Inn and Bridge studios, this restaurant acted up as the Fennel fields for the Peacemaker. It has only been recreated for this particular movie and not being occupied by any other DC universe films. Although it is believed that, the vigilante Adrian Chase worked at Fennel fields where he met the Peacemaker whom he used to consider his idol. But that is a different story.
- The Henry- Located in the streets of Surrey, this place is portrayed as the O’Rourke’s Sports Bar when the Peacemaker follows Emilia during the mission.
- Pacific Inn Resort- This Pink Palace is portrayed as Annie Stumphausen’s Apartment where the Peacemaker goes with her. It is basically now only open for the production houses to shoot series or movies. They also provide paranormal tours for the tourists. It has been an active location for a few scenes from “Batwoman”, “Van Helsing” and “Riverdale”. This hotel consists of a massive atrium, swimming pool, 150 rooms and parking spaces above 400.
