An Omega Moment
In 1970 an explosion aboard the Apollo VIII destroys the space craft timing instruments. With communications from NASA severed, the astronauts wrist watches, Omega Speedmaster, provide the sole timing devices as the firing of rocket engines had to be timed to 1/10 th of a second. Wrong firing would not achieve correct trajectory for safe return to earth.
